The state of Niger has chosen Studiotech as technology partner to design and deploy a digital terrestrial TV network for ORTN, its public broadcaster. Studiotech was selected for its expertise and experience.

In Niger, a DVB-T2 terrestrial TV network will be deployed and 56 transmitters will be installed. A digital bouquet of 15 TV channels and one radio station will be transmitted all over the country. At seven regional transmission stations, ORTN will add two local TV channels and one local radio stationl. Studiotech has chosen Evertz and Rohde & Schwarz as technology partners. Evertz for encoding, multiplexing, RF modulation, monitoring and management Rohde & Schwarz for DVB-T2 transmission. Studiotech was also selected to modernise ORTN’s broadcast infrastructure. The numbers are impressive: playout for 2 national TV channels, 4 national TV studios, 4 national radio studios, 8 regional radio studios, 32 video editing suites, 26 audio editing suites, one DSNG vehicle with 6 cameras and one radio OB van. Studiotech selected Evertz for routing, multiviewing, monitoring and glue, Sony for cameras and video mixers, Avid for editing, Cinegy for playout and WinMedia for audio editing and radio playout and automation.
