STUDIOTECH BELGIUM PUTS ON A RED NOSE
TV channel VTM and pop radio station, Qmusic, both part of Medialaan, the biggest Belgian private broadcaster, together with the Belfius bank, are organising Red Nose Day (Rode Neuzen Dag). This is a charity event in Flanders to raise money for improving care for young people with mental health problems. On 5 December 2015 there is a big final show with lots of actors, comedians and artists in an unprecedented marathon of comedy on radio and television.
Recent research has shown that there is a great need in Flanders for psychological help for young people. At least 1 in 5 young people suffers from psychological problems. The psychological problems of children and young people result in early school leaving and truancy, depression, excessive alcohol use, eating disorders and suicide. By offering young people accessible, free, psychological assistance, we can help alleviate these issues.

In Flanders there are 800,000 young people, of whom about 160,000 suffer from mental or behavioural problems. Half of these need specialist care, which the organisers want to offer through Red Nose Day.

The money donated will be accumulated into the Red Nose Fund, which is managed by the King Baudouin Foundation. The Foundation will use the money for various initiatives in Flanders. One fifth of the donations will be given to charity projects abroad through the British charity organisation, Comic Relief, the creator of Red Nose Day.

Studiotech Belgium values the social responsibility shown by the organisers. Studiotech believes in the relevant social role it can play as a private organisation. Therefore it has decided to support this good cause. It also wants to call on you to do your bit.

In previous years Studiotech Belgium supported several good causes like for example Cap48, a charity project for disabled people organised by RTBF, the Belgian French-speaking public broadcaster.
