Early in November a working meeting was arranged by senior EPTV management, representatives from the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) and Studiotech to discuss setting up VAR demos at live football matches in Algeria.

The matches chosen to be covered were scheduled for 13, 15 and 19 November.

Before the first match, the VAR system was connected to 7 cameras around the pitch and the DreamCatcher and the VAR system were demonstrated to the various technicians/engineers.

This hands-on approach attracted much interest and proved to be a real success.

Please view this link (https://youtu.be/PxRyoa3SHnY) to see the benefit of hindsight for referees - in this match he gave a penalty for hand ball but had he been able to watch the slow motion, multi-angle replays he would have seen no foul committed. A great pity that the VAR system is not yet used in Algeria.

That day, Studiotech and Evertz equipment were featured on all Algerian Radio/TV channels, there were interviews live on TV news and even live during the game.

Our representatives did numerous interviews, explaining the system, its benefits and how Studiotech and Evertz were pleased to work with EPTV and the FAF to help them with their technological development.

On 16, 17 and 18 November a delegation of African TV technical managers (Angola, Mali, Senegal, Mauritania, etc.) will be in Algiers.

We will take advantage of their presence to further demonstrate the VAR system, DreamCatcher, Studiotech Mobile Studio and the Studiotech Mobile Editing system.
