May 2020 Studiotech Belgium supplies a 10 camera HD production truck for the Republic of Niger

Many months of study were necessary to design this flagship vehicle put together in the Studiotech Belgium workshops.

Public broadcaster ORTN (Radiodiffusion Télévision du Niger) had a choice to make and decided on an Iveco Trakker chassis 380 6x4, 12 metres long and 4,50 m wheelbase with insulated sandwich panel bodywork, vented double deck roof, UPS integrated energy system and stabilisation jacks. This truck base has strong suspension and tyres well matched to African conditions.

The Studiotech Belgium engineers paid particular attention to the working conditions of the operators; interior separation into three work zones (production, technical, audio) with a retractable staircase for each zone, appropriate acoustic and climatic adaptions, numerous internal storage spaces and in the external cargo holds below the body.

The camera chains comprises ten Sony HDC-3170 cameras with HD control units, Fujinon lenses and Vinten tripods. The 6x4 vehicle is equipped with an Avid graphics system, a Sony video mixer coupled to Evertz video router and a Yamaha CL5 mixer with Evertz audio router. The truck is suplied with a Vislink 2.40m diameter C band satellite transmission system as well as an L1700 system for HF cameras.

Operators in Niger will benefit from comprehensive Studiotech Belgium training, enabling them to work efficiently in the highly demanding climatic and sub-Saharan conditions.
